Vera Marez is very involved in the Latino community and has been a member of the Latino Leadership Council. She has been actively involved in her church, volunteering, teaching, and accompanying 800 teenagers to share their faith in remote villages of Mexico. Vera is Past President of the Sierra Foothills Chapter of California Marriage and Family Therapist. Vera graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s in Business Management. She received her Master’s in Psychology from Chapman University. While in college, she wrote a paper that was internationally published. She spoke at the Students without Borders Forum in the United Arab Emirates. Her passion to help others lead her to leave her position as Assistant Vice President at Bank of America to become a School Therapist treating students with special needs. Later, she became a bilingual therapist at Stand Up Placer. She is a certified Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Counselor, having received her Training Director certification in Play Therapy from John F. Kennedy University.
