Our Vision

The vision of Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center is to build healthy families and communities.

Our History

Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center was formed in 1996 as part of the Western Placer Unified School District (WPUSD) serving families with children attending WPUSD. In 2005, Lighthouse became a separate 501c3 non-profit which allowed Lighthouse to expand its operations and serve more families in the Lincoln area. Continually expanding its reach across Placer County, today Lighthouse is a full-service Counseling and Family Resource Center serving approximately 4,000 Placer County residents each year. Lighthouse’s reputation for providing quality services to individuals and families in need continues to grow and over time has received numerous awards.

In 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Lighthouse won the “Nonprofit of the Year” award by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. The five awards included Best Non-Profit, Best Customer Service, Best Office Staff, Best Website and Best Volunteers. In 2015, we won “Best of the Best” for Best Website and Best Place to Work.

Lighthouse was a 2017 finalist for the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce in the categories of “Certified Smile Maker Award” and “Community Service Organization of the Year.” Our Executive Director was also nominated as “Business Person of the Year.” In 2020, Lighthouse again won “Nonprofit of the Year” award by the Lincoln News Messenger.
